Biography
Dave Alex Riddett is a British cinematographer known for his work in stop-motion animation, primarily at Aardman Animations.
He began his career in the early 1980s, co-founding the bolexbrothers studio with Dave Borthwick. In 1985 he joined Aardman as a freelance cinematographer. Riddett has worked extensively with director Nick Park, serving as director of photography on shorts including The Wrong Trousers (1993), A Close Shave (1996) and A Matter of Loaf and Death (2008), as well as features such as Chicken Run (2000), Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005), Shaun the Sheep Movie (2015) and Early Man (2018). He received a BAFTA nomination for special visual effects on Chicken Run.
