Biography
David Sproxton is a British producer and co-founder of Aardman Animations. Born in Bristol in 1954, he attended Woking Grammar School and graduated from Collingwood College, Durham University. With Peter Lord he began making animated films as teenagers, selling their first short to the BBC series Vision On in 1972 and creating the character Morph for Take Hart.
Sproxton has produced Aardman’s feature films including Chicken Run (2000), Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005), Flushed Away (2006), Arthur Christmas (2011) and The Pirates! Band of Misfits (2012). He was appointed CBE in 2006 and knighted in the 2026 Birthday Honours for services to the animation industry.
