Biography
Bill Nighy is a British actor. He was born William Francis Nighy on 12 December 1949 in Caterham, Surrey, England. He trained at the Guildford School of Acting and began his career with the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool before making his London debut at the Royal National Theatre in 1977.
Nighy gained acclaim for stage roles including work with David Hare, Harold Pinter, Tom Stoppard and Anton Chekhov. His film breakthrough came with the role of Billy Mack in Love Actually (2003), for which he received a BAFTA Award for Best Supporting Actor. He is also known for portraying Davy Jones in the Pirates of the Caribbean films (2006–2007) and Viktor in the Underworld series (2003–2009).
His later credits include The Wild Robot (2024), in which he voiced Longneck, and The First Omen (2024), in which he played Cardinal Lawrence.
