Biography
David Chameides, also credited as Dave Chameides, is an American Steadicam operator, camera operator and occasional television director. He studied film at New York University and began working as a camera operator in the early 1990s.
Chameides served as Steadicam and camera operator on the television series ER from 1996 to 1999, including the live fourth-season premiere episode 'Ambush'. He directed one episode of the series in 1999, as well as episodes of Third Watch (2002) and Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (2007). His film operating credits include Donnie Darko (2001), Wedding Crashers (2005), St. Vincent (2014) and The Tragedy of Macbeth (2021). He received two Primetime Emmy Awards for his camerawork on the live ER episode and on Fail Safe (2000).
