Biography

David Charap is a British film editor. He was born on 26 September 1965 in London.

Charap began his career in the Czech Republic in the 1990s, collaborating with director Petr Zelenka on several films including The Year of the Devil (2002), for which he won a Český lev. He has worked extensively in Britain on feature films and documentaries, with regular collaborations including Pawel Pawlikowski on The Last Resort (2000) and My Summer of Love (2005), and Terence Davies on The Deep Blue Sea (2011) and Sunset Song (2015). His credits also include This Beautiful Fantastic (2016), Tell Me Who I Am (2019) and The Return (2024).

In television he has edited series such as Utopia (2013). He is a member of the British Film Editors.
