Biography
David Gerrold is an American science fiction screenwriter and novelist. Born Jerrold David Friedman on 24 January 1944 in Chicago, Illinois, he began his professional writing career with television scripts.
His first sale was the script for the Star Trek episode 'The Trouble with Tribbles' (1967). He later wrote episodes for Star Trek: The Animated Series, The Twilight Zone (1985), Tales from the Darkside (1984), Land of the Lost (1974), for which he created the Sleestak, Sliders (1995) and Babylon 5 (1994). He also wrote the novelette The Martian Child, which won Hugo and Nebula awards and was adapted into a 2007 film.
Gerrold has written several novels, including the War Against the Chtorr series, and non-fiction books about Star Trek. He worked as a story editor on Star Trek: The Next Generation.
