Biography
David Nichols (1941–2020) was an American production designer and art director. He worked in the film industry for three decades, serving as production designer on Groundhog Day (1993) and other films including Hoosiers (1986), The Serpent and the Rainbow (1988), Great Balls of Fire! (1989), Mr. Holland's Opus (1995) and Airheads (1994).
Earlier in his career he contributed to the art departments of Martin Scorsese films such as Mean Streets (1973) and Taxi Driver (1976), and to Rocky (1976). He also worked as a visual consultant and appeared as an extra in Taxi Driver. His credits extended to television and Broadway productions.
