Biography

David Stone is an American theatre and film producer. Born on 14 August 1966 in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Marlboro Township, New Jersey, he graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1988.

He is best known as a producer of the Broadway musical Wicked (2003) and its two-part film adaptation, Wicked (2024) and Wicked: For Good (2025), both with Marc Platt. His other credits include the Broadway productions of The Boys in the Band (2018), Next to Normal (2009) and Man of La Mancha (2002), as well as the film The Boys in the Band (2020).

Stone serves on the boards of several theatre organisations, including the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors of The Broadway League.
