Biography
Dean Wareham is a musician and composer. Born in Wellington, New Zealand, he moved to New York City in 1977 and studied at Harvard University. He co-founded the band Galaxie 500 in 1987, left in 1991 to form Luna, and later worked as the duo Dean & Britta with his wife Britta Phillips.
Wareham has composed original music for several films, including The Squid and the Whale (2005) and Mistress America (2015), both directed by Noah Baumbach. He has also contributed to Thursday (1998), Mr. Jealousy (1998) and Price Check (2012).
