Biography
Derek Kolstad is an American screenwriter and film producer. He was born on 4 April 1974 in Madison, Wisconsin, and studied business administration at Taylor University in Indiana before moving to California to pursue screenwriting.
He sold his first script, Acolyte, in 2012. Earlier credits include One in the Chamber (2012) and The Package (2013). Kolstad wrote the screenplay for John Wick (2014), originally titled Scorn, which he sold to Thunder Road Pictures; the title was changed at the suggestion of star Keanu Reeves. He also wrote John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017) and contributed to later entries in the franchise as well as the screenplay for Nobody (2021).
