Biography
Don Brodie was an American actor. Born Donald Ellis Brodie on 29 May 1904 in Cincinnati, Ohio, he died on 8 January 2001 in Los Angeles, California. He began his career on stage, performing with Cincinnati's Civic Repertory Theater for nine years before signing a film contract with Universal Pictures in 1931.
Brodie appeared in more than 250 film and television productions, usually in uncredited bit parts. His credits include voice work as a carnival barker in the Disney animated feature Pinocchio (1940) and a used-car salesman in the film noir Detour (1945). He also contributed to The Great Dictator (1940), Harvey (1950) and television series such as Murder, She Wrote and Get Smart.
In addition to acting, Brodie worked as a dialogue director and directed the 1944 feature A Fig Leaf for Eve. He was married to Lucille I. Becker.
