Biography
Dulé Hill is an American actor and tap dancer. Born Karim Dulé Hill on 3 May 1975 in Orange, New Jersey, he began studying ballet and tap as a child. He appeared as an understudy in the Broadway musical The Tap Dance Kid and later took the role on its national tour. He graduated from Sayreville War Memorial High School in 1993 and studied business finance at Seton Hall University.
Hill is known for playing Charlie Young, the president's personal aide, on the NBC series The West Wing (1999–2006). He received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for the role and shared two Screen Actors Guild Awards for ensemble cast performance. He subsequently starred as Burton "Gus" Guster on the USA Network series Psych (2006–2014), which he also produced.
His film credits include She's All That (1999), Men of Honor (2000) and Holes (2003). Hill has appeared in stage productions such as Bring in 'da Noise, Bring in 'da Funk and After Midnight, and has received multiple NAACP Image Award nominations for his television work.
