Biography
Eddie Campbell (1949–2020) was a Scottish actor based in New Zealand. He appeared in numerous film and television productions, often in supporting roles as authority figures or tough characters.
After serving nine years in the British military, he moved to New Zealand in 1982 and began acting, touring with plays and building a career in local television and film. His credits include The Piano (1993), King Kong (2005), The Water Horse (2007), Top of the Lake (2013) and Slow West (2015), in which he played Skelly. He also featured in The Power of the Dog (2021).
Campbell worked with director Jane Campion on The Piano and the series Top of the Lake. He died in New Zealand on 16 October 2020.
