Biography
Edward Shearmur is a British film and television composer. Born in London, he sang in the boys' choir at Westminster Cathedral from the age of seven. He was educated at Eton College, studied at the Royal College of Music and held a scholarship at Pembroke College, Cambridge.
Shearmur began his career as an orchestration and conducting assistant to Michael Kamen. His first major feature score was The Wings of the Dove (1997). He is known for his work on films including Charlie's Angels (2000), Miss Congeniality (2000), Cruel Intentions (1999), Johnny English (2003) and Bride Wars (2009), as well as the limited series Escape at Dannemora (2018). He won a Primetime Emmy Award for the original title music to Masters of Horror in 2006.
