Biography

Efthimis Filippou is a Greek screenwriter, playwright and author. He is best known for his long collaboration with director Yorgos Lanthimos, with whom he co-wrote the screenplays for Dogtooth (2009), Alps (2011), The Lobster (2015), The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017) and Kinds of Kindness (2024).

Filippou has also written plays, books and other screenplays. His stage works have been presented at festivals and theatres in Greece, including the Athens Epidaurus Festival. He shared the Golden Osella for Best Screenplay at the 2011 Venice Film Festival and received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay for The Lobster.
