Biography
Elaine Ko is an American television writer, producer and director. She began her career as a writing assistant on the sitcom Back to You (2007–2008) and later worked as a staff writer on Do Not Disturb (2008) and Family Guy (2010–2011).
Ko joined Modern Family (2009) as a staff writer in its second season and advanced through roles including executive story editor, producer and executive producer. She wrote multiple episodes and directed two. She has also written an episode of Only Murders in the Building (2021) and created the series Running Point (2025). With Modern Family, she shared Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Comedy Series and received Writers Guild of America Awards, including for episodic comedy.
