Biography
Ellen Thomas is a Sierra Leonean-British actress. She moved to Streatham, London, as a teenager to pursue acting and began her career in the 1980s with stage and television work.
She is known for multiple roles in the BBC soap opera EastEnders, including Pearl Chadwick, Estella Hulton, Grace Olubunmi and Claudette Hubbard, appearing across more than 130 episodes between 1990 and 2016. Other television credits include Liz Webbe in the Channel 4 sitcom Teachers (2001–2004) and the voice of Ambessa Medarda in the animated series Arcane (2021).
Her film roles include the Prosecutor in Basic Instinct 2 (2006), Tucker's Mum in Johnny English Reborn (2011) and Vi Butterfield in Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris (2022). She has also appeared in Breaking and Entering (2006), The Love Punch (2014) and Humans (2015).
