Biography
Emi Itô (also credited as Emi Ito) was a Japanese actress and singer. With her identical twin sister Yumi Itô, she performed as the vocal duo The Peanuts from 1958 to 1975.
She is known for portraying one of Mothra's diminutive priestesses, the Shobijin, in three Toho kaiju films: Mothra (1961), Mothra vs. Godzilla (1964) and Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster (1964). The sisters also appeared in other Japanese films during the 1960s.
Itô was born on 1 April 1941 in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, and died on 15 June 2012 in Tokyo.
