Biography
Shinichi Sekizawa (also credited as Shin'ichi Sekizawa) was a Japanese screenwriter. He wrote screenplays for numerous Toho tokusatsu and kaiju films directed by Ishirō Honda, including King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962), Mothra vs. Godzilla (1964), Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster (1964), Invasion of Astro-Monster (1965), Ebirah, Horror of the Deep (1966), Son of Godzilla (1967) and All Monsters Attack (1969). He also contributed stories to later entries in the Godzilla series.
Sekizawa's first screenplay was for the 1956 film Fearful Attack of the Flying Saucers, which he also directed. He contributed to the original Ultraman television series and worked on other Toho productions in the 1950s and 1960s. His kaiju scripts are noted for a lighter tone compared with those of contemporary writer Takeshi Kimura.
