Biography

Fares Fares is a Swedish actor. Born on 29 April 1973 in Beirut, Lebanon, he moved with his family to Örebro, Sweden, in 1987. He began acting in a local theatre group in Örebro and later studied drama near Gothenburg and with the Theatre Tamauer.

He has frequently collaborated with his brother, director Josef Fares, appearing in films including Jalla! Jalla! (2000) and Kopps (2003). His international credits include Safe House (2012), Zero Dark Thirty (2012) as Hakim, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) as Senator Vaspar, and television roles in Chernobyl (2019), Westworld (2018) and The Wheel of Time (2021–). He has received a Guldbagge Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role and two Robert Awards for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.
