Biography
Francesca Gregorini is an Italian-American film and television director and screenwriter. Born in Rome on 7 August 1968, she graduated from Brown University with a degree in Theatre Arts. She sold scripts to HBO and Paramount Pictures before making her directorial debut with the feature Tanner Hall (2009), co-directed with Tatiana von Fürstenberg.
Her subsequent feature The Truth About Emanuel (2013) premiered in the US Dramatic Competition at Sundance. Gregorini has directed episodes of television series including Humans (2015), Philip K. Dick's Electric Dreams (2017), Killing Eve (2019), Chambers (2019), The Dropout (2022), for which she received a Primetime Emmy nomination, Based on a True Story (2023) and Clipped (2024). She directed three episodes of the Netflix series Vladimir (2026).
