Biography
Frederick King Keller (18 April 1950 – 26 January 2026) was an American film and television director, producer and screenwriter. Born in Buffalo, New York, he was the son of actor and screenwriter Frederick A. Keller. He studied English at Hamilton College and began his career directing short films, including work for the Catholic Diocese of Buffalo.
Keller directed and wrote early independent features such as Tuck Everlasting (1981) and Vamping (1984). From the late 1980s he worked extensively in television, directing episodes of series including The Pretender, House, 24, CSI: Miami, Angel, Roswell, Numb3rs, Life, Justified and Blue Bloods. He also served as producer or supervising producer on several of these shows. His writing credits include the Columbo television film Columbo Goes to College (1990).
Keller received a Writers Guild of America Award for the 2015 pilot Weight.
