Biography
Bill Johnson is an American film editor and television director. He attended Dartmouth College and began his career as an assistant editor in New York feature film editing rooms, including work with Jonathan Demme on films such as The Manhattan Project (1986) and Something Wild (1986).
He edited 19 episodes of The West Wing (1999–2001) and won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Series for the episode 'Two Cathedrals' (2001); he had been nominated the previous year. Johnson made his directorial debut on the series with the episode 'Bad Moon Rising' (2001).
As a director he has worked on episodes of series including House (2004), Justified (2010), The Expanse (2015), The Rookie (2018) and others. His feature editing credits include Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie (1996).
