Biography
Gary Kurtz was an American film producer. He collaborated with George Lucas on American Graffiti (1973) as co-producer, and produced Star Wars (1977) and The Empire Strikes Back (1980).
His other credits include The Dark Crystal (1982), Return to Oz (1985) and Slipstream (1989). Kurtz began his career as an assistant director in the 1960s and later lived in London.
