Biography
Geoffrey Bateman is a British actor born in 1948 in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England. He has worked in film, television and voice acting across several decades, with credits in both British and international productions.
Bateman is known for his role as the SWAT Chief in Léon: The Professional (1994). Other film appearances include Juliette's father-in-law in Heartbreaker (2010), Bertie in Manderlay (2005) and Yevgeni in Another Country (1984). On television he played Marcus Waverly in Agatha Christie's Poirot (1989), Richard Dunbar in Highlander: The Series (1992) and James Hooperman in This Life (1996–1997). He portrayed Bishop Bossuet in the series Versailles (2015–2018).
He has also provided voice work for video games and documentaries, and appeared in earlier television productions such as The Legend of King Arthur (1979) as Gawain and episodes of Doctor Who and Casualty.
