Biography

Geoffrey Kirkland is an English production designer. Born on 7 October 1939 in Derby, Derbyshire, he began working in film and television in the 1960s.

He received an Academy Award nomination for best art direction for The Right Stuff (1983). Kirkland won BAFTA Awards for production design on Bugsy Malone (1976) and Children of Men (2006). His other credits include Midnight Express (1978), WarGames (1983), Mississippi Burning (1988), Space Jam (1996) and The Birth of a Nation (2016). He was also nominated for a Primetime Emmy for Hemingway & Gellhorn (2012).
