Biography
George Jenkins was an American production designer and art director. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he studied architecture at the University of Pennsylvania and began his career designing sets for theatre and Broadway productions before moving into film.
His film credits include art direction on The Best Years of Our Lives (1946) and Klute (1971), and production design on All the President's Men (1976), for which he shared an Academy Award, The China Syndrome (1979), Sophie's Choice (1982) and Presumed Innocent (1990). He frequently collaborated with director Alan J. Pakula and also taught at UCLA.
