Biography
Glen Cavender (also credited as Glen W. Cavender and Glenn Cavender) was an American film actor. He appeared in more than 250 films between 1914 and 1949. He began his career in vaudeville and was a member of the original Keystone Cops, appearing regularly in Mack Sennett comedies. He also directed three Mack Sennett films between 1914 and 1916.
In the 1920s he worked for the Educational and Christie studios. Cavender is known for his role as Union Captain Anderson in Buster Keaton's The General (1926). The transition to sound films reduced him to minor and uncredited roles, which he continued until retiring in 1949. He was married to actress Hazel Chene.
