Biography
Halina Prugar-Ketling is a Polish film editor. Born in Warsaw in 1929, she began her career in the mid-1950s editing documentaries before moving to feature films, with her first credit in 1958.
She is known for her long collaboration with Andrzej Wajda, editing more than twenty of his films including Everything for Sale (1969), The Wedding (1973), The Promised Land (1975), Man of Marble (1977), Man of Iron (1981) and Danton (1983). She also edited Knife in the Water (1962) for Roman Polański and worked with directors including Jerzy Skolimowski and Andrzej Żuławski. In 2016 she received the Gloria Artis Medal for Merit to Culture.
