Biography
Hamilton Camp was a British-born actor and singer-songwriter, also credited early in his career as Robin Camp or Bob Camp. Born in London on 30 October 1934, he was evacuated to the United States as a child during the Second World War and began acting on stage and screen in the late 1940s.
In the early 1960s he achieved recognition as a folk musician, notably as half of the duo Gibson and Camp; their album Live at the Gate of Horn (1961) was influential, and he wrote the song "Pride of Man". He later returned to acting, appearing in films such as Eating Raoul (1982) as John Peck, and worked extensively as a character actor and voice artist in television and animation, including roles in The Little Mermaid (1989) and Desperate Housewives (2004). Camp died in Los Angeles on 2 October 2005.
