Biography

Hank Moonjean was an American film producer, executive producer and associate producer. He graduated from the University of Southern California and began his career at MGM Studios as an uncredited assistant director on films including Bhowani Junction (1954). He later worked as an assistant director on titles such as Cool Hand Luke (1967) and The Odd Couple (1968).

Moonjean’s producing credits include The Great Gatsby (1974), several films starring Burt Reynolds such as Hooper (1978), Smokey and the Bandit II (1980) and Stroker Ace (1983), and Dangerous Liaisons (1988). He and Norma Heyman received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture for the latter. In 2008 he published the memoir Bring In The Peacocks: Memoirs of a Hollywood Producer.
