Biography
Harry Groener is a German-born American actor and dancer. Born on 10 September 1951 in Augsburg, Bavaria, Germany, he moved to the United States with his family at the age of two. He apprenticed with the San Francisco Ballet as a teenager and studied drama at the University of Washington, graduating in 1976.
Groener began his career in theatre, making his Broadway debut in the 1979 revival of Oklahoma!, for which he received a Tony Award nomination and a Theatre World Award. He later appeared in the original Broadway productions of Cats and Crazy for You, earning further Tony nominations. His television roles include Mayor Richard Wilkins in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1998–2003) and Dr. Chavez in Breaking Bad (2008). Film credits include Road to Perdition (2002) and Oppenheimer (2023). He has been married to actress Dawn Didawick since 1978.
