Biography
Heitor Teixeira Pereira, also known as Heitor TP, is a Brazilian composer. Born on 29 November 1960 in Rio Grande, Rio Grande do Sul, he played guitar with the band Simply Red from 1988 until 1996 and released a solo album under the name Heitor TP in 1994.
He has worked as a musician at Hans Zimmer's studio and composed additional music for several films before becoming a lead composer. Pereira is credited as composer on the Despicable Me films, including Despicable Me 4 (2024), Despicable Me (2010), Despicable Me 2 (2013) and Despicable Me 3 (2017), as well as Minions (2015), Minions: The Rise of Gru (2022) and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022).
In 2006 he won a Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying a Vocalist for his arrangement of "What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?" performed by Chris Botti and Sting.
