Biography
Janet Healy is an American film producer. She began her career in live-action films, working with directors including Stanley Kramer, Hal Ashby and Sam Peckinpah, and served as associate producer on Steven Spielberg's 1941 (1979). She later joined Industrial Light & Magic as co-head of production, contributing to visual effects on films such as Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) and Jurassic Park (1993).
In 1995 Healy moved to Walt Disney Feature Animation as head of digital production. She subsequently worked at DreamWorks Animation, where she produced Shark Tale (2004). Since 2008 she has been at Illumination, producing the Despicable Me films (2010–2017), Minions (2015), The Secret Life of Pets (2016), Sing (2016), The Grinch (2018), Sing 2 (2021) and Minions: The Rise of Gru (2022), among others.
Healy is a founder of the Visual Effects Society and received its Founder's Award in 2014.
