Biography
Brian Lynch is an American screenwriter and comic book writer. Born on 21 June 1973 in Middletown Township, New Jersey, he attended Middletown High School South and William Paterson University of New Jersey.
He is best known for his screenplays and story work on Illumination films, including Puss in Boots (2011), Minions (2015), The Secret Life of Pets (2016), The Secret Life of Pets 2 (2019) and Minions: The Rise of Gru (2022). He co-wrote the screenplay for Minions & Monsters (2026) with Pierre Coffin and served as an executive producer on the film. Earlier credits include writing and directing the independent feature Big Helium Dog (1999) and co-creating the comic series Angel: After the Fall with Joss Whedon.
