Biography
Irby Smith is a film producer and former assistant director. His early credits include second assistant director on McCabe & Mrs. Miller (1971) and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975), and first assistant director on Stand by Me (1986).
He later worked as producer, co-producer or unit production manager on Young Guns (1988), Major League (1989), Young Guns II (1990) and City Slickers (1991). Further producing credits include Angels in the Outfield (1994), Rookie of the Year (1993) as executive producer, and Prefontaine (1997). He has also produced television films in the Angels in the series.
