Biography
James Gay-Rees is a British film producer. He graduated from the University of Southampton and began his career working for Miramax in London, later moving to New York and then to Orbit Productions in Los Angeles as head of development. He later focused on documentary production.
His credits include Exit Through the Gift Shop (2010), Senna (2010), Amy (2015), Ronaldo (2015), Oasis: Supersonic (2016) and Diego Maradona (2019). He has also served as executive producer on the series Formula 1: Drive to Survive (2019–). He co-founded the production company Box to Box Films.
Gay-Rees won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature for Amy and a BAFTA Award for Best Documentary for Senna.
