Biography
James Graham is a British playwright and screenwriter. He was born in 1982 in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, and studied at the University of Hull. His stage work has been produced at theatres including the Bush, Soho Theatre and the National Theatre, with several transfers to the West End and Broadway.
Graham is known for plays including This House, Ink and Dear England, the last of which won the Olivier Award for Best New Play in 2024. He adapted Dear England into a four-part BBC series due to air in 2026. His television credits include X+Y (2014), Brexit: The Uncivil War (2019), Quiz (2020) and Sherwood (2022). He was appointed OBE in 2020 for services to drama.
