Biography
James Lyons (8 October 1960 – 12 April 2007) was an American film editor, screenwriter and actor. He was born in New York and died in Manhattan.
Lyons frequently collaborated with director Todd Haynes, editing Poison (1991), Safe (1995), Velvet Goldmine (1998, which he also co-wrote the story for) and Far from Heaven (2002). He also edited Sofia Coppola’s The Virgin Suicides (1999) and worked on Prozac Nation (2001) and Imaginary Heroes (2004). As an actor, he appeared in Poison and as Billy Name in I Shot Andy Warhol (1996). He was in a long-term relationship with Haynes.
