Biography
Christine Vachon is an American film producer. Born on 21 November 1962 in New York City, she graduated from Brown University and began working in independent film in the late 1980s.
She co-founded Apparatus Productions with Todd Haynes and Barry Ellsworth in 1987, and later established Killer Films with Pamela Koffler in 1995. Vachon has produced many independent features, including Poison (1991), Boys Don't Cry (1999), Far from Heaven (2002), Carol (2015) and First Reformed (2018). She has maintained a long collaboration with Haynes and also produced the HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce (2011).
Recent credits include Past Lives (2023), May December (2023) and Materialists (2025). Vachon serves as artistic director of the MFA Programme at Stony Brook Manhattan.
