Biography
James Urbaniak is an American actor. Born on 17 September 1963 in Bayonne, New Jersey, he has worked in theatre, film and television since the mid-1980s.
His stage work includes an Obie Award-winning performance in Richard Foreman’s The Universe. He received a Drama Desk Award nomination for Thom Pain (based on nothing). On screen, Urbaniak is known for playing Simon Grim in Hal Hartley’s Henry Fool (1997), Fay Grim (2006) and Ned Rifle (2014), and Robert Crumb in American Splendor (2003). He voiced Dr Thaddeus Venture in the animated series The Venture Bros. (2003–2023).
Urbaniak played Grant Grunderschmidt on the Comedy Central series Review (2014–2017). Other credits include appearances in The Office (2005), Brooklyn Nine-Nine (2013), Better Call Saul (2015) and Oppenheimer (2023) as Kurt Gödel.
