Biography
Jason Blumenthal is an American film and television producer and partner at Escape Artists alongside Todd Black and Steve Tisch.
After graduating from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in 1990, he began his career at Wizan/Black Films. He later served as senior vice president of feature production at Mandalay Entertainment before forming Black & Blu Entertainment with Todd Black in 1998; the company merged with the Steve Tisch Company in 2001 to create Escape Artists.
Blumenthal’s producing credits include The Pursuit of Happyness (2006), Seven Pounds (2008), The Equalizer (2014) and its sequels The Equalizer 2 (2018) and The Equalizer 3 (2023), The Man from Toronto (2022, also story by), and Masters of the Universe (2026). He has also worked in television as an executive producer and received Emmy nominations.
