Biography

Jay Huguley is an American actor working in film, television and theatre. He was born on 26 July 1966 in Tenafly, New Jersey. He attended the Peddie School, studied political science for a year at the University of London, and graduated from American University with a double major in political science and communications. He trained at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York and at the Beverly Hills Playhouse.

Huguley is known for recurring and guest roles including David in The Walking Dead (2010), Jimmy Ledoux in True Detective (2014), Sheriff in 12 Years a Slave (2013), JSOC Commander Dixon in Lioness (2023), Sowell in Outer Banks (2020), and Barrett Ramsey in Landman (2024). His film work includes Jimmy Swaggart in The Eyes of Tammy Faye (2021). He has also appeared in theatre productions and received the Best Actor award at the 2015 Northeast Film Festival for Sunny in the Dark.
