Biography
Jay Lender (born 14 June 1969) is an American television writer, storyboard artist and director. He worked on the first three seasons of SpongeBob SquarePants (1999) as a writer and storyboard director, and directed episodes of Phineas and Ferb (2007).
Prior to SpongeBob SquarePants, he designed and drew backgrounds for Nickelodeon's Hey Arnold! (1996–1999). He is the son of Murray Lender, founder of Lender's Bagels. Lender studied for two years at the Rhode Island School of Design before transferring to CalArts to specialise in animation. After leaving Nickelodeon, he wrote scripts for video games with his writing partner Micah Wright.
