Biography
Jayne Houdyshell is an American actress known for her work in theatre, film and television. Born on 25 September 1953 in Topeka, Kansas, she graduated with honours from the Academy of Dramatic Art at Oakland University in Michigan in 1974. She spent much of her early career performing in more than 200 regional theatre productions across the United States before moving to New York.
Houdyshell made her Broadway debut in the 2006 production of Well, earning a Tony Award nomination. She won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her role in The Humans (2016) and received further nominations for Follies (2012), A Doll's House, Part 2 (2017) and The Music Man (2022). Her screen credits include the role of Hannah in Little Women (2019), appearances in Downsizing (2017), The Bounty Hunter (2010) and Maid in Manhattan (2002), and the recurring part of Bunny Folger in the series Only Murders in the Building (2021–).
