Biography
Jharrel Jerome is an American actor. He made his film debut as Kevin age 16 in Barry Jenkins’s Moonlight (2016).
Jerome was born on 9 October 1997 in the Bronx, New York City. He trained at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts and studied acting at Ithaca College. He gained wider recognition for his portrayal of Korey Wise in Ava DuVernay’s miniseries When They See Us (2019), for which he received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie. His other credits include Concrete Cowboy (2020), voice work as Miles G. Morales in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023), I’m a Virgo (2023) and Unstoppable (2024).
