Biography
Jill Baker is a British actress. A graduate of the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, she made her screen debut in the 1975 television film Savages and has worked extensively in theatre and television since then.
Her film roles include Faith in Hope and Glory (1987), Lady De Lesseps in Shakespeare in Love (1998), Sheba's mother in Notes on a Scandal (2006), Betty in Salmon Fishing in the Yemen (2011) and Violet in Tower Block (2012). On television she has appeared in Only Fools and Horses (1981), Midsomer Murders (2011), Happy Valley (2014–2016) and EastEnders (2014–2015). She has also performed in West End and RSC productions.
Baker was married to actor Bob Peck from 1982 until his death in 1999; they had three children.
