Biography
Jim Parsons is an American actor. He was born on 24 March 1973 in Houston, Texas, and trained at the University of Houston and the University of San Diego, from which he received an MFA in 2001. He began his career on stage in New York before appearing in small television roles and the film Garden State (2004).
Parsons is best known for playing Sheldon Cooper in the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory (2007–2019), a role that earned him four Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. He has also appeared in films including Hidden Figures (2016) and Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile (2019), and has performed on Broadway in productions such as The Normal Heart and The Boys in the Band. He is married to Todd Spiewak.
