Biography
Joaquim de Almeida is a Portuguese actor born on 15 March 1957 in Lisbon. He began his film career in the early 1980s with a role in the action film The Soldier (1982) and gained early recognition for Good Morning, Babylon (1987).
He achieved international prominence with performances in Clear and Present Danger (1994), Desperado (1995), the television series 24 (2003–2004) and Fast Five (2011), reprising the latter role in Fast X (2023). Other credits include Che: Part Two (2008) as President René Barrientos and Missing (2023) as Javi. He has worked across Europe, the Americas and Brazil, and is fluent in six languages.
