Biography

Jóhann Jóhannsson was an Icelandic composer, producer and director. Born in Reykjavík on 19 September 1969, he died in Berlin on 9 February 2018.

He began in experimental music and theatre before moving into film scoring. His credits include the scores for Prisoners (2013), The Theory of Everything (2014), Sicario (2015) and Arrival (2016). He won a Golden Globe for the score to The Theory of Everything and received two Academy Award nominations.
